Bonnie Fishburn - Summer/Autumn

Well I think it is safe to say that the last three months have probably been the most difficult and eventful months of my whole eventing career. I’ve had some amazing highs but also some very emotional lows. I will tell you all about it.

Dudley competed in his first ever event yesterday in blazing temperatures. We were at Somerford Park for the East Cheshire Pony Club 80cm class. He was a little star. We had a couple of baby moments where he got scared of the crowds but he is definitely getting better. His dressage was the best he's done and he scored 30. Show jumping he was a little quick but clear and very brave because it was a very up to height spooky course. He was then clear Xc to leave him in 3rd place. An amazing achievement and Margaret Spencer, his owner was thrilled. :-)

My next outing was the Area 20 Riding Club Showjumping Qualifier run by Nantwich Riding Club. First to go was Frankie in the open. He hadn't been out jumping for about 6 weeks so I had a couple of quite excitable rounds and an unfortunate 4 faults in both, but we still picked up 5th individually and the Nantwich team of John Done, Lisa Cadman (4th ind), Nicola Moran (3rd ind) and myself won, so off to the Nationals we go.Next up it was Florence in the Intermediate. Unfortunately we were only going as individuals as the team had fallen apart, so the only way to qualify was to win the class as an we did.....out of 40 people!!! Three words - "What A Star". From the first round to the third round, she didn't miss a beat. Percy did the novice, which was a touch small for him but he had a lovely fun time with a clear and 4 faults. He spent most his time taking the mick out if me but he enjoyed it. Neither him nor the team were in the placings. Finally it was the Style jumping for Florence and it appears she likes the colour red and so pulled another win out of the bag, as did the Nantwich team of Nicola Moran(6th ind), Lisa Cadman (5th ind) and Corrie Mclellan. Florence's score was 107 which was about 76%.Very successful day, with three Nationals qualifications.
