My long term coaches Heike Holstein (Dressage) and Ian Fearon (Show Jumping) who have been a great help to me over the years.

Current Horses:
“Franco” – Chestnut 5 Year Old Gelding by Corland.  He is a real athletic Horse with a wonderful character, he jumps for fun so I will do the 5 Year Old jumping classes, Stepping Stones to Success League and the Future Event Horse League.
“Lilly” – Grey 6 Year Old Mare by Watermilll Swatch.  She is a great Event type with lots of blood, this year I will do Novice with the aim of Camphire Internationals CC1* class for 6 year olds.
“Vendi” – Bay 6 Year Old Gelding by Ars Vivendi. He is a “Power House” to jump and is new to Eventing but has all the makings of a great Event Horse. He will compete along side Lilly and both will be brought on slowly again with the aim of Camphire International.

Along side Eventing I buy and produce talented Young event Horses.  When I am not in the saddle myself I enjoy coaching Children and Adults of all levels from Pony Club up to International Eventing.

Still on a high from 2014 and the wonderful success it brought and I am excited to be a Shires Ambassador for 2015..... Thanks to Lisa, David and all at Shires Equestrian who have made this possible.

The winter has been busy spent preparing plans for each Horse individually and very little down time for me.... The last few weeks have been spent doing shows in wonderful local venues such as Ballinamona, Wexford Equestrian and Barnadown to name a few... I am very lucky to have such great facilities on my doorstep. I think varied work for my Horses is fantastic and with so many dressage leagues no one has any excuse not to practice. Last year I went to lots of SJI shows which I really enjoyed doing and feel they are totally different in atmosphere for the Horses. I feel it gets them ready for the bigger events and the crowds help the riders cope with stage fright!!

I purchased a very exciting new Horse at the Go for Gold Sales in November (Summer Bridge Lilly) who is now a 6 yr old mare and I have very high hopes for her... Over the last few months I have spent time building our partnership at local shows. Over the last few weeks she has really come on and is growing in strength and fitness which at this time of the year means extra high spirits at shows!!!

Another Horse making great progress and continuing to excite me is Vendi. His extravagant paces make sitting on him difficult again when showing off at shows. All his work over winter has seen his jumping technique improve and I hope to take him to Millstreet for the Welcome Tour.

Franco has had great fun doing Derby’s the last few weeks, this has been a lovely change from Show Jumping for him and great preparation for the Stepping Stones League.

Another exciting new addition is Magic a 5 year old Gelding by French Buffet. I’m really looking forward to producing him towards the Stepping Stones and FEHL. Maybe he could be another Dublin winner as he is showing massive potential!!

Our first Event this year will be at Monart Equestrian on Sun 8th March. As all Event Riders know the first event is eagerly awaited and generally results in explosive dressage tests, keen and expressive Show Jumping on Grass and extra fun trying to maintain a safe speed xc!!!
Bring on 2015 : )
